Beaver Qualities

The “X” classification indicates the percentage of beaver content and directly influences the softness of the felt.

Beaver fibers are naturally fine and resilient, providing consistent high-quality performance across all grades.

All beaver qualities offer high performance, with differences mainly reflected in softness, refinement, and finishing potential.

  • Lower X values (10X – 30X)
    • More structured and cost-efficient
    • Suitable for standard applications
  • Mid-range (40X – 70X)
    • Balanced softness and durability
    • Versatile across different styles
  • Higher X values (80X – 100X)
    • Superior softness and smoothness
    • Enhanced durability and finishing potential
    • Premium quality with refined surface appearance

Fur & Wool Qualities

Blended qualities combine the characteristics of different fibers to achieve a balanced performance between structure, softness, and cost efficiency.

By adjusting the proportion of rabbit fur and wool, FEPSA is able to fine-tune the behavior of the felt according to specific technical and aesthetic requirements.

  • Low rabbit content (e.g. 5AW, 1X)
    • Lighter and more flexible
    • Cost-efficient solution
  • Balanced blends (e.g. 10B, 20B)
    • Combination of structure and softness
    • Improved finishing potential
    • Versatile across different applications
  • Higher rabbit content (e.g. 50B)
    • Increased density and structure
    • Enhanced surface quality
    • Closer performance to fur-based felts

Qualities that include rabbit and wool in the composition:

QUALITY COMPOSITION
1X, FX & 10B 10% Rabbit + 90% Merino
