Meet the Team | Hardening Section
Share
At FEPSA, the Hardening and First Quality Control Section is where the felt begins to gain strength and consistency.
Led by Teresa and Bianca, this stage plays a key role in the early felting process, ensuring the felt develops the structure needed for the following production phases.
After Forming, the felt cones are exposed to moisture and controlled rotational movement, allowing the fibers to interlock and consolidate into a more resistant structure. As the felt is still delicate at this point, every step must be carefully monitored to guarantee consistent quality and proper handling.
This section also includes an initial quality control process, where possible inconsistencies are identified and corrected before the felt advances further in production, helping prevent non-conformities in later stages.
