Meet the Team | Blowing Section

Nuno Soares is responsible for the Blowing Section at FEPSA, one of the first stages of the production process, where the fur is cleaned and prepared.

This section operates with a dedicated team working across four shifts, ensuring continuous production. Here, both grey and white fur are processed through a mechanical blowing system. Keeping these two types of fur strictly separated is essential to avoid any contamination.

During the process, the fur is exposed to controlled air flow, which separates the fibers. The lighter fur, considered of higher felting quality is directed to the felting stage, while the heavier fur is removed as it is not not suitable for this purpose.

The goal is to ensure that the fur leaves this stage clean and in optimal condition for the next steps in production.

While blowing is not the only factor influencing final product quality, it is where the process begins. Precision at this stage is crucial to ensure consistency throughout all subsequent phases.
